Human Resources Job description
Under the supervision of the GM of Workforce & Development & Training, the Training & Development Specialist will perform a variety of clerical, administrative, and technical tasks in the areas of training and development, employment and employee relations. Upholds the values of the GPA to promote Safety, Integrity, Respect, Community, Creativity and Opportunity. Promotes a safe work environment by participating in safety initiatives and reporting unsafe conditions and behaviors.
JOB DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
1. Performs a variety of administrative duties to include data entry, filing, and updating reports as it relates to all GPA training activities.
2. Assists with planning, coordinating, and executing logistics associated with training program delivery; sends employee course notifications and reminders; registers employees for classes; maintains and sets up training room.
3. Plans, coordinates and handles arrangements for luncheons, training venues, event set-up/tear down, and ordering supplies/materials.
4. Maintains the training database of employee records and attendance; enters information into GPA LMS and run reports of employee training.
5. Schedules, plans and organizes materials and supplies for employment development and training events.
6. Assists with updating and maintain the GPA training website and calendar.
7. Assists the GM of Workforce Development & Training with special projects to include organizing training programs and events.
8. Assists with coordinating and organizing the YES+ Student Training Program and GPA Internship Program.
9. Assists the HR Generalist with employment verifications and other HR related tasks as needed.
10. Works effectively as a team member with other members of management and the HR staff.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of general office procedures as they relate to a HR department. Knowledge of computer software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office. Strong verbal, written, and mathematical skills are required. The abilityto interact and communicate effectively and professionally with the GPA staff on all levels of administration including immediate supervisor, management, and co-workers required. Ability to handle confidential information. Ability to plan, organize, and execute high volumes of work.
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Four year college degree in human resources, organizational development, business, or related field highly desired. Three to five years of current experience in Human Resources required.
Other Requirements:
Must meet the criteria for and obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC). Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
