Security Officer Job description
As a Security Auditor and Port Office employee at the Port of Amsterdam, you analyze, among other things, the risks of the interaction between ships and companies in the port. You do this by auditing companies that receive sea-going vessels, checking the security plans against international legislation (ISP's code), and assessing whether the physical security of the port facility is sufficiently guaranteed. You have intensive contact with the security officers at the companies for this. Based on your conclusions and advice, a (port) security certificate will be issued or not? You are also the contact for the internal organization of the Port of Amsterdam. You also monitor the progress of the certifications and act proactively in the event of delays. You participate in working groups based on your expertise and advise internally (and externally) with regard to ISP's issues/laws and regulations.
In addition, you support the Port Office in all common activities, facilitating the internal colleagues of the operational department and being a source of information for our customers. You are responsible for permits and exemptions for various nautical subjects. You assess shipping in the field of hazardous substances and the environment, whereby you prioritize, schedule inspections, and assess the admission and allocation of berths.
What is required?
- HBO+ work and thinking level
- Basic Audit training ISO 9001:2015, training PFSO, IMDG, SCOT, ADN, or the willingness to follow it
- Demonstrable experience with security/safety and experience with NEN/ISO quality audits is an advantage
- Experience with sailing in sea or inland shipping in view of the nautical issues
- Knowledge of the nautical sector
- Excellent command of the Dutch language
- Able to communicate well with various internal and external stakeholders
- Have your own car
