Environmental Managemer Job description

Here at Associated British Ports we are currently recruiting for a Consents and Environment Specialist. This is a hybrid-based role and the location is flexible within the UK.

This is a newly created role reporting to the Consents and Environment Lead. You will be part of the Group Projects function and will add to the team’s internal expertise, allowing the safe, efficient, and successful delivery of a strong pipeline of projects that span the land and marine planning regimes.

This is an exciting opportunity to support the optimal development and delivery of major capital projects in ABP, through strong cross-functional collaboration. You will work with the Consents and Environment Lead and a team of Project Managers to manage the planning and consenting workstream on specific projects typically ranging between £20 million and £150m. This may include supporting multiple projects under development or a specific project under execution.

We’re seeking a highly motivated and proactive Consents and Environment Specialist to obtain the consents, licenses and permissions required to enable our multi-million projects to go ahead. You will have the opportunity to work on industry-leading Port development projects as part of an experienced and dynamic project team.

The ports industry is unique and exciting, and we have 87 km of Quay and 5000 ha of the port estate while handling approximately 100 mill tonnes of cargo every year across many different industries.

Due to the geographical spread of our projects across our ports, there will be a requirement to travel when necessary.

We offer a competitive salary and great benefits including 26 days of holiday (plus bank holidays), private healthcare, an annual bonus, a holiday purchase scheme, an excellent pension and lots of employee discount offers!
