Key Responsibilities:

The Analyst of Payroll Operations will ensure accurate processing and recording of the company's payroll, provide timely and accurate financial information, and participate in daily payroll processing operations in the PeopleSoft HRMS system. This person will apply leadership skills to improve efficiency and accomplish operational and workflow objectives. Accountable for ensuring deliverables are met for self and team. Ensure all support functions are processed timely and accurately while all audit requirements are actioned. Assist with workflow and prioritization of payroll processing to achieve efficiency and to ensure timelines are met. Assist the Payroll Management team in creating a winning team environment. Work cross-functionally within the department and the company to drive process improvements leading to best practices and automation while staying up to date on all processing mentioned above, company policies, and applicable payroll laws.

  • Manage and process all PeopleSoft payroll functions for a large payroll while remaining consistent with Federal, State, and Local requirements
  • Run queries and analyze data from PeopleSoft by using pivot tables and lookups as needed
  • Validate payroll summary, payroll registers, and other payroll reports
  • Plan, develop timelines, address issues, and identify solutions
  • Understand and apply applicable labor contracts for various work groups
  • Review and test changes to PeopleSoft and time and attendance systems
  • Research and guide issues while working cross-functionally within the department and the company
  • Work closely with high-level internal/external contacts in reviewing, compiling, and processing various sensitive payroll data
  • Manage other payroll-related projects as assigned

Qualifications

What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • College education/degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2-3 years of payroll experience in a processing environment
  • Multi-state payroll knowledge
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel
  • Ability to drive operational improvements on a departmental basis
  • Ability to exhibit leadership skills, and verbal/written communications skills
  • High level of initiative; detail-oriented, excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management, follow-through, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle stressful situations in a professional manner
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with a high degree of accuracy
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
