What is the role?

Managing a portfolio of projects, you will lead the strategic delivery of Gatwick's Decade of Change policy. Engaging with the business, you will trailblaze the embedding of sustainability into everything we do with a coherent, committed, approach to this agenda.

What will you do?

  • Manage the annual DoC program of work including engagement across the 10 topic areas.
  • Support the advancement of the sustainability agenda across Gatwick including raising awareness, and delivering initiatives, pilots and feasibility studies.
  • Develop and maintain an award-winning engagement program to embed sustainability into the culture of Gatwick.
  • Lead the achievement and maintenance of Airport Carbon Accreditation Level 4+
  • Maintain and improve Gatwick's external sustainability certifications
  • As an influential leader, you will be the Secretariat for the Decade of Change & Sustainability Steering Group.
  • Working with your ESG Reporting Executive (direct report), you'll ensure that DoC and ESG reporting is consistently and thoroughly delivered. Constantly monitoring and suggesting improvements to the process to create further engagement and reaction from the business.

Do you have what we're looking for?

Do you have a passion for sustainability and enjoy leading, managing and implementing business and cultural change?

We're looking for someone who has experience in sustainability and loves engaging with the business, influencing colleagues to really think about sustainability and doing things differently. You'll need to be resilient and tenacious to explore issues over the long term and to implement change.

Additionally, you will have:

  • A strong technical understanding of sustainability management (preferably in an infrastructure context).
  • A great communicator with the ability to articulate analytically, verbally, and in writing and connect with people at all levels.
  • Project management (ideally program management) experience over a full project lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of sustainability KPIs including how to develop and deploy for maximum impact.
  • Experience in ESG reporting.
  • Have a great understanding of strategic management processes, principles, and methodologies within large organizations.
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience in relevant field.
