Storm Water Analyst Job description

As a Stormwater Analyst, you will perform analysis of operated and maintained systems and facilities on airport property, this includes 8 watersheds, 53 miles of streams, 85 miles of pipes and 22 miles of first flush pipes. You will also manage service contracts, and schedule the inspection and cleaning of all drains, pipes and inlets.

What you will be doing:

  • Analyzes, research and documents studies conducted on system operations and maintenance activities.
  • Assists with the development of test plans, procedures, tools, meaningful metrics and controls in conducting system performance management.
  • Coordinates the collection, verification and analysis of operational data to support various project initiatives, such as benchmarking various types of activities and services, evaluation/cost justifications of proposed capital projects and other special projects.
  • Analyzes trends in the various operation and maintenance activities as assigned and makes recommendations to improve such activities that impact systems performance.
  • Assists with the development of test plans, procedures, tools, meaningful metrics and controls in conducting system performance management.

What you need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering Technology or engineering or science discipline, or a related field.
  • Four (4) years of experience in systems testing and quantitative analysis.
  • One (1) year of systems improvement project development experience.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above.
  • Possession of a valid class C driver's license.

What we desire:

  • Stormwater Modeling Software experience
  • Geographic Information System Mapping experience
  • Skill in utilizing intermediate to advanced level spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.

Special Requirements:

  • This is a designated safety sensitive position as defined in DFW Airport’s Drug and Alcohol Administrative Policy and Procedure. Applicants selected for this position will be required to pass a drug test prior to employment and to submit to drug screening on a random basis during the length of their employment in the safety sensitive position.
  • This is a designated Essential Employee position as defined in DFW Airport’s Categories and Classifications Administrative Policy and Procedure. An essential employee is one whose attendance is required to maintain airport operations during an emergency or inclement weather situation.
