Supply Chain Management Job description

This role combines supply chain descriptive analytics with financial analysis and modeling. The successful candidate will provide analyses to sourcing teams for savings & operational initiatives, lead procure-to-pay and cash management for the Technical Operations (TechOps) portfolio, produce internal performance and external supplier management reports, and maintain SAP cost and supplier information.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Performs economic research and compiles information to assist decision-making.
  • Prepares data comparisons to establish cost impact options as part of the strategic sourcing process and supports the sourcing process as required.
  • Provides total-cost-of-ownership analysis and draws conclusions from that analysis.
  • Develops, establishes, and maintains processes that verify the accuracy of procurement information contained in Delta's SAP system.
  • Coordinates with internal customers as well as suppliers to resolve issues. Assists in managing business relationships with suppliers.
  • Ensures metric alignment with Supply Chain, Finance, and TechOps business units.
  • Manages and tracks internal process implementation and contract compliance.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS)

  • Candidate should be proficient in research and analysis, and competent in commodity expertise, financial analysis, forecasting, logistics, and strategic sourcing. 
  • Must have the ability to effectively understand and use complex spreadsheets and databases.
  • Use Hyperion, Alteryx, SAS, BI tools, and process improvement techniques.
  • Understand and evaluate contracts and other legal documents.
  • Manage work effectively by taking initiative, working independently, and coping with pressure.
  • Enhance personal effectiveness and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Bring about positive action through interactions with others.
  • Embody a high degree of initiative with a proven record of integrity and professional maturity.
  • Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for a U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.
