By working closely with the US government and coordinating grassroots advocacy efforts, our Corporate and Government Affairs team represents United on public policy and legislative issues. Key Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for supporting United's ESG portfolio, inclusive of data tracking and analysis, planning and reporting efforts associated with external climate disclosures. Often you will prepare and maintain communications materials, including presentations, facts sheets, etc. to be used for both internal- and external-facing platforms.

  • Support United's Climate team and leadership to define, implement and report on United's ESG strategy
  • Managed United's enterprise-wide ESG reporting program by taking the lead role in data management, reporting and verification activities, including a collection of data from various collaborators, driving consistency, accuracy and completeness in line with both mandatory requirements and company expectations
  • Maintain awareness of industry and market trends relative to ESG as well as various climate disclosure frameworks and standards, including but not limited to TCFD, CDP, GHG Protocol, proposed SEC climate change disclosure regulation, etc.
  • Establish and conduct benchmarking and associated communications to inform continuous improvement.
  • Support implementation and subsequent management of newly implemented data management system as it pertains to climate-related data.
  • Maintain an understanding of United's climate strategy and associated objectives and support accordingly through frequent collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Support employee engagement efforts relative to embedding sustainability across various internal work groups
  • Use technical knowledge and experience to provide thoughtful decision-making and guidance in the strategic implementation of approved projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science/policy/sustainability, business, or related area
  • 2-4 years of experience
  • ESG frameworks and standards
  • Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills
  • Proven interpersonal skills and ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Ability to build trust and communicate
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects
  • A clear interest in and passion for environmental issues
  • Demonstrates strong people, planning and organizational skills
  • Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
