Maintenance Technician Job description

The Sr Engine Specialist within Predictive Engineering will provide timely Engine Condition Monitoring support and operational expertise to Engineering, MCC, and Line Maintenance Operations in order to determine appropriate actions to maintain a safe and reliable product for both internal and external customers.

  • Conduct day-to-day monitoring of fleet(s) for engine-related issues.
  • Provide 24 x 7 access to support the operation via cell phone as required
  • Supports Predictive Maintenance initiatives and metrics through station visits and on-site AOS support
  • Provide technical guidance to Tech Services, MCC, and the LMO regarding proposed corrective actions based on data received from Engine Condition Monitoring software applications.
  • Provides feedback and advice to management as requested.
  • Participates in industry meetings/conferences and is a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for OEMs.
  • Work under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives.
  • Assignments are most often self-initiated, determine and pursue a course of action necessary to obtain desired results.
  • The position does require travel, domestic and international

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS)

  • Airframe and Powerplant licenses are required. 
  •  Must have a minimum of 5 years of Line Maintenance, Engine Maintenance experience, or equivalent (MCC, Technical Services) with an emphasis on troubleshooting skills. 
  • MCC and/or Engine Maintenance experience is highly desirable. 
  • Fleet Airframe and/or Engine Initial Training courses are highly desirable. Must maintain appropriate Line Maintenance and ETOPS qualifications based on fleet type. 
  • OEM training is desired. A line Maintenance background with avionics training and supervisory experience is preferred. 
  • Candidates must possess strong technical knowledge of the aircraft/engine/auxiliary power units; have the analytical skill and a thorough understanding of the aircraft manuals, Technical Operations Policies and Procedures, production process, and aircraft operations. 
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, work well under pressure, act in a timely manner, and handle multiple tasks with continually changing priorities, all with minimum supervision. 
  • Familiarity with various computer software programs such as TOS, Word, Excel, SCEPTRE, AHM, AMMRS, Airman Web and other relevant software programs is preferred. 
  • Must have a strong desire to positively impact the operation by leveraging the latest technology for prognostics and diagnostics. 
  • Must be performing satisfactorily in the present position.
