Job overview and responsibilities 

The local Ticket Office Sales Representative is responsible for increasing direct local sales at each assigned office by proactively prospecting potential clients, SMEs and non IATA agencies and providing outstanding service to customers visiting our City Ticket Office (CTO) as well as via phone (if applicable).As Sales Representative this role is also responsible for supporting the contracted / managed agent and corporate customer experience by offering comprehensive service and sales support via Jetstream. The role is an integral part of sales and compliments field sales efforts by handling service-related issues and achieving a mutually beneficial resolution for both customers and United
  • Achieve and exceed established sales and ancillary goals assigned for the year
  • Proactively prospect and qualify for new direct customers for the CTO by conducting frequent telemarketing campaigns, cold calls and sales calls to grow the customer database
  • Participate in joint sales calls with the CTO Supervisor, Sales Department team and airline partners as well as key events with the purpose of capturing new prospects
  • Frequent and consistent communication with CTO-assigned customers, travel agencies and corporate/PerksPlus accounts
  • Follow up on corporate accounts and premier customers monitoring their travel activity and calls to reinforce United's presence
  • Responsible to issue/reissue of domestic and international tickets for travel on United Airlines and other airline partners
  • Comply 100% with United Airlines Internal Audit guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Keep updated and informed with all United policies and procedures to provide excellent customer service
  • Assist co-workers as well as direct customers with problems and concerns related to reservations/ticketing, MileagePlus, refunds, United.com products and services
  • Process group requests received from direct customers and travel agencies by providing a group contract including all terms and conditions related to deposits, ticketing date, cancellation, itinerary, and authorized fare
  • Provide sales support for the Account Managers by providing email and phone support to travel agencies and corporate accounts across Latin markets
  • Serve as an additional point of contact for service-related issues within Latin America's sales organization for United's contracted agencies and corporate customers. Providing timely and informative responses with innovative solutions that create win/win situations for both the customer and United Airlines
  • Ensure the highest level of customer service is maintained
This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.

Qualifications

Required 

  • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Sales, analytical, customer service, and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and flexibility with working shifts; showing a willingness to perform new assignments
  • As the job evolves, be willing to learn and perform other new projects to collaborate with other co-workers during vacation, time off etc.
  • 2+ years of previous sales experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish (fluent)
  • Excellent Technology usage skills
  • Demonstrate to be an excellent problem solver
  • This position requires a proactive team player with a positive attitude, a high level of multitasking, prospecting and telemarketing skills
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Mexico for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
  • Hold a valid passport and U.S. Visa

Preferred

  • 2+ years of previous airline sales experience
  • 2+ years of Reservations and Ticketing knowledge
