Key Responsibilities:

This leader is responsible for the development and management of network planning as well as leads the implementation of key strategic initiatives across United’s network to enhance efficiencies and profitability. This role is responsible for communication and collaboration across United team members including but not limited to commercial and operational stakeholders both internally and externally. This position also leads efforts to analyze, adjust and ensure alignment for network planning with United’s long-term strategy.

  • Development of capacity plans for each schedule to optimize aircraft assignments and patterns of service
  • Proactive identification and evaluation of initiatives to improve the profitability and competitiveness of the United network
  • Constructs strategic review assessments of the United route and schedule network relative to peer airlines
  • Develop and implement key Commercial initiatives to ensure the success of United Next, efficiently planning and optimizing asset utilization to decrease CASM
  • Consult on various Commercial initiatives, providing solutions to increase profitability for the business
  • Evaluate key business challenges and provide solutions to leadership
  • Cross-Commercial Initiatives: Drive development and execution of cross-functional projects across various divisions in alignment with Commercial strategy

This position is Hybrid with some time spent in the downtown Chicago office location. Up to 25% travel is required. Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience
  • 10+ years of network planning or scheduling experience
  • 5+ years of leadership/managerial experience
  • Knowledge of network planning and tools
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and team-building skills
  • Extensive knowledge of airline scheduling activities and interaction with up-line and down-line team members
  • Ability to communicate complex situations in a clear, concise fashion
  • Must be comfortable presenting and influencing senior leaders from across the airline
  • Must be able to effectively manage situations and lead the team with little oversight
  • Effectively collaborate with teams throughout the airline in a positive and proactive manner
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
