Key Responsibilities:

The Manager, Pilot Hiring Programs leads a team of Pilot Recruiters and is responsible for leading United Airlines’ pilot sourcing processes to recruit top talent to the Aviate program and ultimately a United flight deck. The position is responsible for developing, leading, handling and implementing robust recruiting strategies to build a pipeline of pilots for our Aviate program. Individual must collaborate regularly with Flight Operations & HR on process, strategies, status updates and feedback of all candidates and focus on development of the team

  • Provide leadership and lead recruitment team responsible for pilot sourcing
  • Partner in design and support of standard processes for pilot sourcing
  • Sourcing and recruitment activities may include outreach to our network of Aviate partners; collaboration with industry peers; design, development, and execution of programs to attract candidates; creation and management of data analytics and tracking systems; website and social media advertising
  • Oversee team responsible for coordinating and attending recruitment job fairs, campus visits, flight line visits, and school/community-based recruitment events
  • Assist with design and development of recruiting tools to drive efficiency, improve equity, and provide an industry leading applicant/participant experience
  • Create and manage recruiting and diversity analytics in partnership with People Analytics and Flight Operations
  • Ability to travel as needed

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • 5 or more years of HR experience, with at least 3 years of dedicated recruiting experience required
  • Experience in workforce development programs and/or campus recruiting
  • Experience leading a team and providing the support needed to achieve outcomes
  • Experience in developing and implementing diversity and inclusion recruiting strategies
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ownership and outcomes-focused mentality and proven ability to develop and execute critical initiatives
  • Experience with tracking and data analytics and building robust presentations
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, highly team-oriented environment
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities with a high degree of accuracy and ability to delegate work as needed
  • Ability to travel up to 35% of the time
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of relevant experience
  • Experience using Salesforce, Taleo, or other applicant tracking systems (i.e., iCIMS)
  • In-depth understanding of barriers to entry to the pilot profession for women and racial/ethnic minorities
  • Strong knowledge of social media and demonstrated usage of tools such as LinkedIn
