Delivery Manager Job description

The Manager – MRO Service Delivery - Engines reports directly to the General Manager, Engine and Components Service Delivery and Production Control. The Manager oversees a team that works closely with shop personnel, engine maintenance management, and MRO Customer representatives. Responsible for the technical requirements, and material management, to support contractual turn times and status reporting to internal and external customers. He or she will develop consensus within an organizational climate of diverse operational activities, The Manager will coordinate and interface with MRO Services, TechOps Finance, Quality, and Engineering for the most effective and efficient strategies for assigned areas as well as interfacing with all areas of Technical Operations and throughout Delta to ensure schedule meets or exceeds Customer’s contractual agreements. The employee will support the development of internal MRO Services process improvements; will work to improve organizational effectiveness and efficiency to support MRO Services. He or she will assist in quarterly or periodic business reviews and annual customer reviews with respect to performance, and review of the overall program. The Manager is responsible for maintaining staff levels by onboarding new team members as required, along with ensuring they receive adequate training. Employee practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures. Occasional domestic and international travel is required, up to 10% of travel is often with little or no notice as to destination and or duration.

This leader must have strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment in close collaboration with operational divisions and other internal and external partners. Additionally, this position requires proven strategic thinking and creative problem-solving. A thorough understanding of Delta TechOps MRO engine business is required.

Primary Functions Include:

  • Coordinate and interface with MRO Services, TechOps Finance, Quality, and Engineering for the most effective and efficient strategies as well as interfacing with all areas of Technical Operations and throughout Delta to ensure the DTSG engine customer’s contractual agreements are met or exceeded.  
  • He or she will assist in quarterly or periodic business reviews and annual internal and customer reviews with respect to performance, and review of the overall program.  
  • Partners with MRO and other TechOps departments on strategic planning and evaluation of new business opportunities.
  • Creates and implements specific development plans for all direct reports in conjunction with the overall team and department-stated objectives.
  • Develop and foster a LEAN culture throughout engine maintenance.
  • Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS)

  • Minimum of 5 years of engine maintenance experience.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to manage and develop team members.
  • Strong interpersonal and partnership skills to work across divisions and external stakeholders
  • Should exhibit a professional demeanor and confidence 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication to produce concise, strategic presentations to senior leaders.  
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex initiatives across various work groups. 
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal, including presentation.
  • Should have the ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment (multi-tasking).
  • FAA Powerplant license
