Maintenance Technician Job description

Executes directions given by the Programs Lead or Sr. Specialist to maintain SWA Routine Maintenance Programs, including management of Maintenance Requirements, Task Cards, Task Optimizations Task Evolutions, and other projects. These responsibilities help ensure compliance with all required tasks, regulations, guidance, and procedures used to maintain an applicable and effective Mx Program. Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors to accomplish assigned goals. Uses professional concepts; applies company policy and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.

  • As directed by the Programs SR. Specialist or Lead, the Specialist will:

Maintain discipline within parts of the Routine Maintenance Programs:

  • Systems

  • Maintain aspects of the Routine Maintenance Program through review and incorporation of the following requirement inputs:

  • AD
  • FTS
  • FRM
  • CFR
  • ETOPS

Maintain the Maintenance Requirement Tracking System (Maintenix, Wiz, Trax) to ensure compliance with all required routine maintenance activities including:

  • Interval
  • Applicability
  • Effectiveness
  • Packaging
  • Triggering
  • Task reset schemes
  • Reporting
  • Provide effective communication with customers (internal and external) to ensure compliance and effective execution of the routine maintenance program
  • Facilitate multiple projects designed to enhance or develop effective, compliant and efficient maintenance programs.
  • Utilize Maintenance Programs Project Database to prioritize and execute the assigned workload.
  • Manage change requests from internal and external customers to help ensure effective, compliant, and efficient maintenance programs.
  • Perform data analysis to effectively develop or revise programs, processes, or procedures.
  • Assist in developing plans to ensure the cost-effectiveness of the Routine Maintenance Program to include optimization and evolution principles.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining MOC documents to meet the needs of the Routine Maintenance Program.
  • Utilize MSG analysis to correctly determine the applicability and effectiveness of tasks, programs, intervals, and packaging.
  • Perform safety risk analysis to ensure changes do not introduce new hazards.
  • Implement changes developed due to regulatory escapement issues such as LOI, CSW, GSW, MSW, and VDRP.
  • Utilize bridging philosophies, as required, to blend maintenance program variances.
  • Perform station visits, as required, to support the Routine Maintenance Program.
  • Support industry committees, as required, to ensure SWA is engaged as necessary.
  • Utilize data manipulation tools such as:
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Quick Base
  • Alteryx
  • Tableau
  • SQL
  • Salesforce

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of mechanical system and their maintainability.
  • The ability to interpret and understand technical documents, such as AMM, IPC, Engineering Diagrams, AD, and SB.
  • Ability to understand and execute task planning, scheduling, and method of compliance philosophies as pertains to maintenance routine schedule requirements.
  • Ability to reconcile multiple variables in decision-making.
  • Identifies problems, performs root cause analysis, investigates information, performs impact analysis, and formulates and executes plans to develop solutions.
  • Identifies strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Ability to evaluate the process for effectiveness and adjust as necessary to mitigate risk.
  • Ability to gather and organize change impacts across structures, organizations, and processes to ensure acceptable risk levels.
  • Must be able to work without immediate supervision and prioritize assignments by budgeting time effectively.
  • Must be able to analyze data and prepare memos, reports, and presentations by using excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Effective communicator across varying levels of an organization.
  • Must be adept at learning any new hardware/software platforms to support the organizational need.
  • Ability to manage tasks across multiple projects, while meeting shifting priorities.

Education

  • Required - High School Diploma or GED -
  • Required - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience - Engineering/ related degree or Airframe and Power Plant License

Experience

  • Required - 5 Years - Aircraft Maintenance or related experience
  • Required - 3 Years - Mx Program management or related experience
  • Planning, Technical Writing, Aircraft Maintenance, Quality Oversight, Engineering, Programs

Licensing/Certification

  • A&P license or related Engineering degree
  • Physical Abilities

Other Qualifications

  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have the authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.
