The Role

The Line Planning Engineer is responsible for the timely and efficient acquittal of all engineering maintenance requirements of Virgin Australia's Fleet of aircraft. This role will see you maintaining CASA regulatory compliance and business requirements, acting as the liaison between Virgin Australia Engineering, Approved Maintenance Organisations (AMO), external contractors, and the Virgin Australia Operations Group.

Reporting to the Maintenance Planning Leader, the Line Planning Engineer will maintain regulatory compliance by effectively implementing the airline's Approved Maintenance Program, devoid of maintenance overruns and undue restrictions on the operation as a whole.

In addition, the Line Planning Engineer will be accountable for:

  • Assessing and providing implementation strategy – Considering best maintenance opportunities
  • Re-planning of scheduled maintenance due to unforeseen Network Disruptions
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with the Approved Maintenance Program is maintained
  • Raising daily maintenance Work Order packages and acquitting Planning tasks and Engineering Support Requests.
  • Reviewing and planning the Aircraft's Daily Check times
  • Manpower/port capacity and capability level loading as per agreed levels in the AMO Service Level Agreement.
  • Liaising with port engineers to ensure that maintenance visits can meet the designated turn times without affecting operational OTP

To become part of this exciting team you will have experience in Aircraft Engineering with the ability to demonstrate planning aptitude. Your ability to showcase excellent communication skills and being able to think on your feet in a fast-paced environment will see you fit into this 10-week rolling shift pattern and working environment. Exposure to TRAX and Excel would be advantageous.
