Recruitment Specialist Job description

To support the HR team and business recovery, LBA ® is recruiting an HR Advisor to play a key role in the HR department, providing a professional and efficient HR service to the business, its managers, and employees.

The HR Advisor, reporting directly to the HR Manager, will help shape, and drive improved Company performance through the implementation, and development of people-related policies and strategies.

Main Responsibilities

  • Providing general and confidential administrative support for all areas of the Company.  
  • Work with the HR team to deliver a value-adding HR service, which supports the achievement of the Company’s objectives and strategy, whilst ensuring that best practice is adopted with regard to the implementation of people management systems and practices.
  • Provide first-line and responsive HR support, coaching, and guidance to line managers on employee relation issues to ensure legal compliance and minimize business risk.
  • Provide first-line support to managers in all aspects of people management, including performance processes and career development, to ensure the effective leadership and management of people at all times.
  • Support the HR Manager in all aspects of people management, including managing grievances, discipline, and the termination of employment, as and when required.
  • Support the HR Manager with consultation and negotiation meetings, as required.
  • Support the HR Manager in advising the Company on the implications of current and proposed employment law, ensuring personal knowledge is kept up to date and that Company HR policies and employment practices remain compliant.
  • Support the HR Manager with sickness absence management across the company and the occupational health process.
  • Support recruiting managers with all areas of recruitment, as and when required.
  • Run the Company’s induction program for new employees into the business, as and when required.
  • Assist in day-to-day queries from employees and managers, in person or via mail, being involved in resolving more complex queries or escalating to the HR Manager as and when required.
  • Assist the HR administration team with any admin duties, as and when required.  
  • Assist the HR Manager with reporting and analysis of information where required.
  • Assist the HR and Payroll department in any ad-hoc projects, as and when required.

Person Specification

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification is desirable or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience working in an HR environment is essential.
  • Proven experience in providing an HR generalist service is desirable but not essential.
  • Demonstrable experience in providing high-quality advice and guidance to managers on people management matters.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities to meet critical deadlines.
  • Good knowledge and experience of Microsoft.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, as well as part of a team.
  • Proactive and flexible.

Due to security checks required for this role, all candidates will be subject to a basic criminal record check and must be able to provide a continuous five-year checkable work history without any gaps in employment.

Salary: Between £28,000 - £29,000 gross per annum.
