General Manager Job description

The Pilot resources team is looking for a leader who has a proven track record of leading analytical teams and has successfully implemented large analytical projects. The successful candidate must have good knowledge of databases, be comfortable with data analysis tools, and data visualization.


  • Lead a team responsible for managing databases, data analysis, and visualization
  • Build relationships across FOP to understand the business needs and constraints, ultimately driving solutions for the business
  • Develop data tools/processes and analytics that drive operational performance
  • Drive adoption of new processes and data assets across multiple divisions
  • Understand the existing tool and technology landscape, and drive upgrades and changes to current platforms
  • Analyze current processes and, where needed, accelerate the utilization of tools supporting the execution of business processes
  • Prioritize work in a dynamic environment, managing customer expectations
  • Establish team expectations and priorities, monitor performance, coach, develop and create a positive, dynamic and collaborative work environment
  • Collaborate across divisions to effectively drive improvement in overall analytical support
  • Effectively communicate, cross divisionally and to senior leaders, product roadmaps, priorities, and objectives
  • Promote safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures


Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management, Business, Finance, or related analytical field required along with five years of experience with an airline or equivalent field; Masters's level degree a plus. This leader must have strong business acumen and analytical skills, as well as excellent written, presentation, and verbal skills. Must be able to present complex material in a concise but comprehensive manner to decision-makers. Experience in developing executive presentations and operating plans is expected. The candidate must be able to develop team members within a team culture.

Must be performing satisfactorily in current position

  • Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by the date of hire to be considered for a U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.


  • Experience with resource planning, particularly crew resource planning preferred, but not required
  • Experience with SQL, SAS, and/or Python preferred
