What will I be doing as a Terminal Security Officer?

 In this exciting role you will get involved in:

• Conducting hand searches of cabin luggage and passengers as required at the central search security area
• Operating high-tech security equipment such as X-Ray machines and body scanners
• Patrolling our Terminal
• Checking of staff ID cards and passenger boarding cards before entering the security area
• Greeting guests to ensure they receive the very best service

What are the position requirements?

No security experience is required as we pride ourselves in offering full training, but you will ideally have experience working in a customer-focused environment. Naturally, we want to see your enthusiasm, proactive attitude, and your ability to deliver excellent customer service. As the face of MAG, we need you to be well presented, punctual, and focused on attention to detail.

Please note, that all candidates must have perfect color vision and the role will require long periods of standing, bending, walking, and manual handling.

If you’re successful you will be made a conditional offer subject to Pre-Employment checks and passing your initial three-week training course (40 hours - Monday to Friday) which is fully paid. Our checks include A Criminal Record Check, 5 years of employment history, and a Counter Terrorism Check. You will also be required to attend a face-to-face medical appointment.

Due to the nature of our security checks, we are unable to consider any applications from candidates who have not lived in the UK for the last 3 years.

Rosters:

You will be allocated a 10-week rolling roster pattern, containing 8 weeks of known shifts and 2 weeks of flexible hours, known as ‘Flexi Weeks’. You will be given a roster start position (line number); for instance, you could start on Line 4 or 6. You will be required to work all lines of this roster pattern, moving down the roster week by week. Upon completion of Line 10 you move back up to Line 1 and upon full completion of all lines, you return to your starting position and work through the pattern over and over again.

Within your 10-week roster pattern, there are 2 flexible working weeks. You will be set shifts to work, initially giving you two weeks’ notice of these shifts. These shifts will start no earlier than your earliest start time and finish no later than the latest end time. A review of these shifts will be carried out one week prior to each of these weeks starting.
