Are you a qualified Engineering professional with experience working in a fast-paced operational environment looking for a new challenge?

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an Electrical Duty Holder to join our business and be part of a new and exciting era at Gatwick Airport.

As the Electrical Duty Holder, you will be responsible for all activity related to electrical power at the airport, holding overall accountability for the delivery of the power resilience program and associated risk register.

You will own the contractual relationship and associated governance with UKPNS, developing an effective engagement and leadership strategy to ensure; safety, network performance, maintenance, and compliance related to electrical power at the airport.

What is the Role?

As the Electrical Duty Manageryou will be:

  1. Electrical Duty Holder for the entire Gatwick Airport electrical distribution network, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and maintaining power supply across the estate
  2. Develop strategies for supporting network maintenance and ensuring the provision of power resilience for critical assets, preventing disruption
  3. Ownership and management of the UKPNS “Raglan” contract and contractor performance, conducting monthly oversight and management meetings to ensure all targets are met
  4. Development and ownership of GAL Electrical Safety Policy including electrical asset data, achieving compliance
  5. Development and ownership of GAL Electrical Power Strategy covering capacity, resilience, risk and contingency planning, safety, compliance, asset management, and the transition to a smart network
  6. Development and ownership of GAL Power Resilience Risk Register, reducing power-related disruption
  7. Securing capacity from the grid to enable sufficient power for sustainable development and future needs
  8. Provide technical guidance and decision-making on development and power needs, improving understanding of the associated risk across GAL

  • Specific experience of health and safety-related standards and regulations typically involving the security of airport facilities.
  • A dynamic and inspiring leader.
  • Experienced in delivering compliance in difficult environments.
  • Strong understanding of budgets and financial frameworks.
  • Strong understanding and proven experience in a relevant engineering discipline.

  • Able to build successful working relationships.
  • Experienced in change management working within a complex service environment
