Food Service Worker Job description

The Coordinator of Catering Galley & Assets reports to the Manager of Catering Standards and is responsible for supporting Galley Integrity programs along with procurement, supply chain, and repair functions within our Catering operation. This individual while supporting the Senior Analyst Galley Integrity & Asset Management will conduct scheduled and unscheduled audits, ad-hoc site visits to validate compliance / follow up on investigations, and ad-hoc galley checks as needed within our operation.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Has a precise understanding of the Catering Operations Standards Manual, all Catering Specifications, and all operating procedures as it relates to the scope of the area.
  • Conducts scheduled and unscheduled site audits throughout our Catering network, leading physical audits and formal close-out / communication both within the department and with Business Partners as applicable.
  • Conducts galley integrity tests/evaluations as directed.
  • Conducts asset inventory validations to support data set validation & studies as assigned.
  • Supports inventory validation processes within our Catering location and other warehouses.
  • The role will require extensive overnight travel – up to 80% - with some travel required on weekends and holidays based on urgent business needs.
  • Supports ongoing Galley Integrity & Asset Management functions as assigned.
  • Other assignments and targets as requested by the individual’s leadership.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant experience
  • One (1) year – Asset Management and/or Galley Planning experience
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office Products
  • Strong verbal written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Available for overnight travel – up to 80% - including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and diplomacy
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge
  • Depending on location, may need to acquire and maintain a United States Customs Clearance
  • In possession of valid travel documents and the ability to travel in and out of the United States
  • Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • One (1) year – Asset Management and/or Galley Planning experience within manufacturing/logistics, airline catering or airline operations
  • Strong preference for previous quality assurance or audit work
  • Strong knowledge of report development with Data Visualization and Analytics software such as Tableau, TIBCO Spotfire, or other BI tools
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to work well with all levels of leadership

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
  • Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents, or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))

  • Normal Office Environment with the ability to work remotely at times – Operation Permitting

Physical Effort

  • Occasional, Light physical effort is required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently. (Light)
