Commissary Supervisor

The Commissary Supervisor is responsible for supervising employees on assigned shifts to ensure the daily activities are performed safely and efficiently. The Catering Supervisor is also responsible for delivering inventory to assigned aircraft under the customer’s specifications. 

Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities

1. Supervises and coordinates daily activities of employees to ensure safe and effective operations.
2. Greets crew members, flight attendants, and passengers in a friendly and courteous manner.
3. Drives/safely operates catering equipment and vehicles. Loads and unloads aircraft supplies to and from high lift catering trucks. Uses and works from lift equipment to heights at approximately 40 feet to service aircraft.
4. Audits and replenishes inventory to ensure an adequate supply of items needed to service aircraft.
5. Maintains catering log and records under company procedures.
6. Fuels trucks and performs daily safety checks under safety policies and OSHA regulations. Maintains the interior and exterior cleanliness of the catering trucks.
7. Ensures catering areas are kept organized and clean at all times.
8. Ships and receives supply orders; restocks inventory daily.
9. Wash dishes and equipment as required.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for this position.

Basic Qualifications

Pre-requisites:

• Must be a local (in-state) resident.
• Valid In-State Driver’s License.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Ability to pass up to a 10-year background check.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have the authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
• Must complete ramp and SIDA training to obtain airport authority identification security.

Experience:

• Two+ years of relevant experience. Must be open-minded and ready to work as part of a detail-oriented team.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong work ethic.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Education:

• High School diploma or GED.

Experience:

• Four+ years of relevant experience.
• Relevant supervisory experience. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Able to communicate information and instructions verbally and via radio equipment.
• Able to communicate effectively in a professional manner.

Working Conditions

Work Schedule:

• You will need to have the flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime. We operate in a shift-bid environment.

Work Environment:

• Must be alert to moving vehicles or aircraft and use radio equipment.
• Enjoy the outdoors daily (sun, rain, sleet, or snow!) May be exposed to a wide variety of weather conditions, jet and machinery noises, fumes, dirt, and dust for extended periods.

Physical Demands/Requirements:

• Must be able to lift/carry / push/pull and move items of 70 pounds and more regularly and repetitively lift 40 to 50 pounds on raised surfaces.
• Must be able to walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop frequently and for extended periods.
• Must be able to work in cramped or high places.
• Must be able to carry heavy items up and down jetway stairs.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of catering leads and agents.
