Business Manager Job description
Are you an experienced Change professional looking to Grow with Gatwick?
The Development Team looks at the long-term growth of the airport, and how we invest; to ensure the airport is safe, maintain our assets, create capacity, improve service, deliver commercial returns, and deliver our Decade of Change goals towards sustainable aviation.
What is the role?
The Business Change Manager will work with the Senior Leadership team and wider stakeholders to define strategic requirements, develop concepts, define scope, and track the benefits of projects – ensuring the optimum blend of positive outcomes will be achieved.
This role will call into question constraints and think creatively to develop commercially astute business cases, that drive innovative and sustainable approaches to develop our business.
What will you do?
- Define business problems and/or opportunities that contribute to achieving strategic goals
- Ensure that business requirements are thoroughly understood, the appropriate blend of process, systems, people, and infrastructure solutions are explored and develop initial concepts, working with internal and external forecasting, modeling and subject matter expert resources
- Work with the project Sponsor to develop the project brief and business case to secure relevant approvals
- Query assumptions/constraints and drive opportunities to optimize the cost/benefits of the project/program
- Identify, define and track the benefits and outcomes required of the program or project, including contributions to our sustainability goals
- Manage the successful transition of business change into operational areas
- Establish effective stakeholder engagement mechanisms including formal consultation on projects >£5m
- Formulate and maintain Gatwick's Strategic Development Plan
Do you have what we're looking for?
- Experience in a relevant business area(s) and a good understanding of the broader context
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Commercial expertise to develop compelling business cases
- Strong analytical skills and a data 1st approach
- Track record in strategic thinking capability – seeing and exploiting synergies – being accountable for change
- Experience in managing complex stakeholder relationships, challenging, and being relentless in the pursuit of continuous improvement
- Experience in building and managing cross-functional teams
- Degree in a relevant field (desirable)
- Lean/Six Sigma or equivalent skills (desirable)
- Program management training (e.g. APMP) (desirable)
