The success we’ve achieved hasn’t been a matter of luck. It’s a direct result of our strategic leadership. This means taking accountability for driving results, being competitive and influencing outcomes.
You’ll be challenged to do more with less and make the impossible possible. Along the way, you’ll have plenty of fun, meet amazing people and have experiences like no other.
As a Base Operations Manager, you will be responsible for providing remote support for QantasLink and Qantas’ jet regional airports including 12 Regional lounges, Ground Service Equipment (GSE), and logistical support for 950 regional airport contracted staff. You will also be responsible for managing IT issues, signage, uniform orders, onboarding new contractors into appropriate systems and ensuring appropriate training for ground operations is followed. The role is required to work closely with other Airport team members and Qantas Customer Experience to identify and implement business improvement initiatives that will improve customer service delivery and drive down costs in the regional airport ground handling operation
You’ll have
- Previous airport operational experience (preferred)
- Analytical approach to problem-solving and capacity to produce results within a given time frame
- Commitment to a continuous improvement philosophy
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills
- Strong communications skill (both Verbal and Written) with the ability to influence at all levels
- The ability to work full-time to cover any annual leave periods
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with conflicting priorities
- Strong computer skills with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel

You’ll be supported from day 1 with on-the-job training and coaching as well as our formal training opportunities. While you may start in this role, we’ve got a great track record of supporting our people to take their careers in so many different directions, the destinations are endless.
